BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A man died Monday morning in a house fire in Belleville, Illinois, Belleville Fire Chief Stephanie Mills said.

Mills said the fire started at a home near the intersection of South 13th and West Lincoln streets sometime between 5 and 5:30 a.m. The second-alarm fire left one man dead.
