St. Louis rap duo the 'Benji Brothers' indicted in armed drug robbery

ST. LOUIS — Two local rappers have been indicted on drug and gun charges for allegedly committing an armed marijuana robbery in 2018.

The US Attorney's Office announced Thursday that Rasheme Bridges, aka “Benji Bam,” and Kelton Rucker, aka “Benji Kellz,” both 19-year-olds from St. Louis who make up the Benji Brothers rap duo, were indicted on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana and possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crime.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 31, 2018, Bridges and Rucker conspired to steal marijuana from someone in the Carondelet neighborhood of south St. Louis. Bridges brandished a gun and Rucker fired a gun during the theft, the indictment said.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the case.
