ST. LOUIS — After Friday night’s highly anticipated Billy Joel and Sting concert was postponed due to severe weather, the legendary artists finally took the stage Sunday.
For the Schneider family, the delay only heightened the excitement.
"It actually worked out to be a good thing. In the end, we were double booked for tonight. We had to make some changes, but it worked out nicely for the weekend to have something to look forward to on Sunday," said Lindsay Schneider.
Initially slated for Friday, fans had to shuffle plans due to Weather Impacts from the remnants of Hurricane Helene. Organizers said, “The safety of the fans, artists, crew, and staff is paramount.”
Concertgoers span generations: From longtime fans of Billy Joel and Sting to the younger crowd. Some a bit less eager than others.
“My mom made me go," said 12-year-old Harper Bowman.
We found parents thrilled to share the music legends they grew up with, many proudly sporting their favorite t-shirts.
“I'm glad they're coming to St Louis," said April Woerner.
Woerner and her husband traveled from Springfield, Illinois. Though the rain delay forced them to cancel their Friday Airbnb, they’re just happy to be at the concert.
“There are people that had to travel further, had to change plane tickets and stayed an extra night, so it wasn't too bad for us," she said.
