ST. LOUIS — A body was successfully recovered from the Mississippi River near St. Louis, according to the city's fire department.
The floating body was first reported just after 10 a.m. Friday morning near the Poplar Street Bridge. The fire department's marine rescue task force responded to the scene.
Fire department officials told 5 On Your Side that the body was confirmed and removed from the river. The city's police department and medical examiner are now investigating the incident.
