BALLWIN, Mo. — A body was found in a pond at Vlasis Park Friday afternoon by a person who was fishing, according to the Ballwin Police Department.
Ballwin police and Metro West Fire Protection District responded at 2:40 p.m. after a person who was fishing found the dead body and called authorities.
Police said there was no danger to the public.
Authorities were working to identify the person and determine their cause of death. Ballwin police spokesperson Mark Reckert said the department will be coordinating with the St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Office, which will conduct an autopsy.
No further information regarding the discovery was released.
Ballwin police are investigating.
Vlasis Park is located north of Manchester Road off of Seven Trails Drive in Ballwin.
