ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A boil water advisory that affected about 10,000 Missouri American Water customers in parts of St. Louis County was lifted Tuesday morning.

According to an alert from Missouri American Water, a main break was reported at about 5 a.m. Monday.  The water provider issued a boil water advisory, which it said is expected to last 48 hours. About 24 hours later, the boil advisory was lifted.

"Normal water use may now be resumed," an alert ending the advisory said. "Water samples tested from the affected area confirm that the water meets all federal and state regulatory standards for drinking water."
