Breckenridge police officer hits Overland police officer during pursuit

A female Overland officer was transported to a hospital with a broken leg. A male officer for Breckenridge Hills didn't need to be taken to the hospital.

BRECKENRIDGE HILLS, Mo – A female officer broke her leg after police cars from Breckenridge Hills and Overland police departments crashed Wednesday.

It all started when an Overland officer was in pursuit of a man wanted for a felony assault case. That pursuit eventually turned into a foot chase and the male suspect was taken into custody.

But two other officers in separate cruisers were rushing in to help when a Breckenridge Hills police officer hit an Overland police officer at Wismer and Breckenridge.

A female Overland officer was transported to a hospital with a broken leg. A male officer for Breckenridge Hills didn't need to be taken to the hospital.

Charges are pending against the suspect they were chasing.
