Missing Brentwood man found washed up along River Des Peres, taken to hospital

BRENTWOOD, Mo. — A man who was missing since Tuesday morning from Brentwood was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was found washed up along the River Des Peres.

The man, 53, was reported missing after he was last seen leaving his home in Brentwood around 11 a.m., according to the police report.

According to Chief Chris Amenn with the Shrewsbury Fire Department, the man was found washed up on the shore near the intersection of Mardel and Wabash avenues Thursday morning. Firefighters with the Maplewood, Shrewsbury and St. Louis fire departments helped pull the man from the shore and get him into an ambulance.

Amenn said he believes the man was pulled into the river by flooding earlier this week.
