CLAYTON, Mo. — When M1 Bank decided to renovate the three-story building it owns in downtown Clayton, PNC Bank had to close its branch there in 2022 and find a new home.

The bank has found it at 175 Carondelet Plaza in the Shoppes at the Crescent. PNC’s 29th branch in the St. Louis metro area is part of a nearly $1 billion nationwide investment announced in February. The bank plans to open 100 new locations and renovate about 1,200 existing locations through 2028.

"We want to take market share. We want to deliver it in a way it's centered to what the community wants and needs," said Jeff Martinez, PNC's Head of Branch Banking. "We think doing that has been our recipe for our brand."
