ST. LOUIS — Brew Tulum, a specialty coffeehouse and Mexican eatery that in November closed after a lead contamination dispute, is reopening at a new site.

Brew Tulum will have its new restaurant at 700 N. 2nd Street at Laclede’s Landing, with plans to open this fall or in early 2025. As it builds out its new restaurant, Brew Tulum is serving coffee from the Cobblestone, a market, deli and café at 701 N. 1st Street that plans to fully open later this month.

Owners and husband-and-wife duo Laura McNamara and Alberto “AJ” Juarez opened Brew Tulum in fall 2022, signing a five-year lease for the 1,700-square-foot space at 5090 Delmar Blvd. in the Delmar Maker District. Brew Tulum closed in November 2023 amid a dispute over lead contamination at its former restaurant location at 5090 Delmar Blvd.

McNamara and Juarez in January sued their landlords regarding the alleged lead contamination. The suit is pending.
