WENTZVILLE, Mo. — A new subdivision and hotel are being proposed near Interstate 70 in St. Charles County, with the developer requesting annexation of land into a city.

The Interstate Crossing development proposed by Creve Coeur-based Benton Homebuilders would consist of three projects on roughly 50 acres near the interstate in Wentzville, city records show. Development costs were not disclosed in city documents.

The project comes in growing St. Charles County; Wentzville's population has grown 18% in five years, and it counts a 2021 median household income of more than $98,000, with median 2021 household values of $266,000.

The primary project, a new 140-unit subdivision that would be built on agricultural property east of Highway Z, north of Interstate Drive and south of Interstate 70, received approval from the county to be called Interstate Crossing, according to county filings.

No construction would take place on the plan before 2026, the developer said.
