ST. LOUIS — A seafood fast-casual restaurant chain plans to expand in the St. Louis area over the next several years.

Captain D’s has signed a 26-store franchise development agreement with Amazing Seafood, with a plan to bring new restaurant locations to St. Louis, Indianapolis and North Carolina, the company said in a news release.

The deal is the largest development agreement to date for Captain D’s, Chief Development Officer Brad Reed said in a statement.

As part of the deal, the franchising partners also acquired and currently operate 15 Captain D’s restaurants in St. Louis and Illinois, according to the release. There are about 15 locations in the St. Louis area, including Metro East, according to Captain D's website.

The chain introduced its new, smaller restaurant prototype design to the St. Louis market with the opening of a new-format Captain D's prototype in Hazelwood last year.
