St. Louis Cardinals TV ratings plunge

The team’s ratings also fell in 2023, when the average number of viewers per game decreased 28% from the prior season.

ST. LOUIS — Local television ratings for the St. Louis Cardinals nosedived for a second consecutive season in 2024.

Cardinals telecasts had a 3.9 household rating, or an average of about 50,000 households in the St. Louis region, according to data provided by the team's broadcaster, Bally Sports Midwest. That equates to an average of 81,000 viewers per game, down 20% from 2023. The team’s ratings also fell in 2023, when the average number of viewers per game decreased 28% from the prior season.

The ratings are a percentage of homes in the St. Louis market tuned in, on average, at any given point during a game. They do not include streaming figures on Bally Sports’ app.
