ST. LOUIS — The city of St. Louis’ Community Development Administration (CDA) said Wednesday it has awarded $3.7 million through its Neighborhood Transformation Grants program.

The funding is being provided through programs focused on community-driven development, affordable housing, vacant lot beautification and neighborhood planning. CDA began awarding its Neighborhood Transformation Grants in 2023, starting the program with funds from the federal American Rescue Plan (ARPA). The program aims to provide funds to under-resourced neighborhoods, with CDA saying it has sought to support projects in Qualified Census Tracts, which have 50% or more of households with incomes below 60% of the area median gross income, and in areas in the city that have have lacked "economic justice," as measured by the city's Economic Justice Index.
