ST. LOUIS — The curtain will go up Thursday night for a new type of event at Stifel Theatre.
The 3,100-seat theater, located adjacent to the Enterprise Center downtown, for the first time will host a sports event. Its stage will feature a collegiate wrestling match between the University of Missouri and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. While known for its hosting of concerts, plays and comedy shows, Stifel Theatre and Enterprise Center Vice President and General Manager Todd Mitchell said he hopes Thursday’s event isn’t a one-off, as the venue plans to lure more sports events.
