ST. LOUIS — A trio of brothers have acquired Dad’s Cookie Co., a south St. Louis bakery that has been in operation since 1927 and is best known for its Scotch oatmeal cookies.
The Huber brothers first reached out to Dad’s previous owners, the Hastey brothers, about acquiring the company in January 2022, said Chad Huber.
Ownership of Dad’s Cookie Co. has changed several times over its nearly 100-year history.
Under the Hastey brothers’ ownership, Dad’s expanded its operations. Its Scotch oatmeal cookies are currently sold in nearly 250 stores across the St. Louis region, such as Schnucks, Dierbergs and Straubs grocery stores, as well as local shops like Ted Drewes and Crown Candy.
The Huber brothers plan to keep the company’s operations local to St. Louis for now but have plans to launch its other varieties of cookies, which include chocolate chip and peanut butter, in stores soon.
