CREVE COEUR, Mo. — De Smet Jesuit High School for boys, one of the St. Louis region's largest private secondary schools, plans to add middle school grades beginning in the 2025-26 school year.

The school announced last week that it will launch classes for grades six, seven and eight beginning in August 2025. De Smet, which opened in 1967, currently enrolls students in grades nine through 12.

Enrollment is expected to be about 60 students per grade, and the admission process will begin this August, according to a news item on the De Smet website. The school, located at 233 N. New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur, has about 600 students currently enrolled in its secondary grades.

The school said the new middle-grade program's name, tuition and other details will be released at a later date. De Smet High School's tuition and fees for 2024-25 are $21,585, according to its website.
