ST. LOUIS — A Kansas City-based developer plans to build an apartment complex after acquiring prominent properties at the intersection of South Kingshighway Boulevard and Interstate 64 held by developer Lux Living.

NorthPoint Development, which over the past decade has been the most prolific industrial developer in St. Louis, acquired the seven properties at 1070-1094 S. Kingshighway through intermediaries, St. Louis residents Toni and Derek Zimmermann, the company said Thursday.

Full details of the apartments planned at the site aren't yet available since the plan is in the early stages, a NorthPoint spokeswoman said. Although the company has been a developer of industrial parks in the St. Louis region since 2015, this is the firm's first apartment project in the city, the spokeswoman said.
