ST. LOUIS — It’s not yet clear whether Missouri’s largest office building sold in an auction held last month.
The 44-story AT&T tower at 909 Chestnut St. was placed up for auction from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13 on the online marketplace Ten-X, with a starting bid of $2.5 million, and an unknown reserve price.
The 1.46 million-square-foot skyscraper received at least one bid in the auction, but it is not known if that bid was accepted or met the reserve price, said two people familiar with the matter, including a spokeswoman speaking for city officials at the agencies that would typically be involved in major redevelopment projects, the St. Louis Development Corp. and the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority. The agencies had no other details, the spokeswoman said.
In the weeks since the auction finished, the owner and brokers behind the auction have not said whether the long-vacant office tower sold. New York-based development firm SomeraRoad purchased the tower for $4 million in April 2022.
