ST. LOUIS — A downtown St. Louis hotel that’s been closed for nearly all of 2024 says it’s aiming to reopen early next year.

The Le Méridien St. Louis Downtown hotel at 1019 Pine St. could begin repairs in September to fix damage caused by a pipe that burst in January, said General Manager Todd Curry. The 96-room hotel and its adjoining restaurant have been closed indefinitely since Jan. 17, according to Curry. The hotel is currently targeting a reopening date in the first quarter of 2025.

The damage that forced the closure of the Le Méridien St. Louis Downtown Hotel was caused by a burst sprinkler pipe located near the hotel lobby’s front desk, Curry said. It affected the hotel lobby and its basement, which includes the hotel’s meeting space, fitness center and housekeeping operations. The burst pipe occurred during a stretch of cold temperatures in St. Louis, with the weather that week also causing a broken pipe at the nearby Mark Twain Hotel at 205 N. Ninth St. downtown.
