ST. LOUIS — El Indio Hampton, one of several Mexican restaurants located along Hampton Avenue in south St. Louis, has closed.
The restaurant, at 3279 Hampton Ave. in the city’s Lindenwood Park neighborhood, said in a Sept. 3 Facebook post it has shuttered. It said a sister restaurant, El Indio St. Louis at 9865 Manchester Road, will remain open, while also hinting at an upcoming announcement it has planned.
“Thank you all again for the last 11 years,” the restaurant said on social media. “We look forward to new beginnings and invite everyone to keep an eye out for something very exciting coming in the next couple of weeks,” its Facebook post said.
