ST. LOUIS — Tourism agency Explore St. Louis said Tuesday its board "began the process of succession planning" for President Kitty Ratcliffe, amid a report that its board vice chair said a change is needed at the top.
"This morning the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (dba Explore St. Louis) began the process of succession planning as our contract with President Kitty Ratcliffe ends in June, 2025," Explore said in a statement. "As it will take time to recruit a new leader, the board is in the early stages of a planning a transition."
Explore quoted its board chair, Stephen O'Loughlin, as saying that Ratcliffe's "contributions to the organization and St. Louis region have been many and we're deeply appreciative. As she approaches the end of her contract, we are committed to recruiting a new tourism and convention leader to guide Explore St. Louis into the future."
