Fields Foods abruptly closes Pagedale location 3 months after opening

The grocery store location in Pagedale opened in March.

PAGEDALE, Mo. — St. Louis grocery chain Fields Foods on Tuesday abruptly closed its Pagedale location, just months after its opening.

The closure comes as Fields Foods’ Owner Chris Goodson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he is in talks to sell all five locations to an employee ownership group.

The grocery chain’s other four locations — which are located at 1500 Lafayette Ave. near Lafayette Square, 1706 Washington Ave. in Downtown West, 6300 Clayton Ave. in Clayton-Tamm and 299 DeBaliviere Ave. in Skinker-DeBaliviere, which opened earlier this year as part of Expo at Forest Park, a $90 million, mixed-use development — remain open with limited inventory, due to remerchandising, rebranding and restocking, Goodson told the Post-Dispatch.

The 20,000-square-foot Pagedale store, located on the southwest corner of Page and Ferguson avenues at 6840 Page Ave., has a sign posted to its door stating: “The grocery store will reopen under new ownership and management along with a new look.
