EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — A development team is breaking ground on an independent golf entertainment attraction in the Metro East.

The golf entertainment facility, called Park North Golf Club, is anticipated to open next summer in Edwardsville, said Bob Timmermann, who is part of its development team. It will be located next to Plummer Family Park, at 3601 Sports Park Drive.

The development will consist of a 40-bay climate-controlled driving range, an outdoor 18-hole mini golf course, a restaurant and a sports bar, with multiple outdoor patios, according to the developer.

The development team behind both the Park North Golf attraction and the broader 90-acre Park North complex where it will be built is comprised of Edwardsville attorney Chris Byron and Plocher Construction Co. founder Scott Plocher, with Timmermann managing the golf venture. The huge vacant property the developers control along Interstate 55 is reserved for future development.
