ST. LOUIS — Salt + Smoke is planning to franchise its concept nationwide, with the local barbecue joint having recently expanded its leadership team to support its growth plans.
The company didn’t provide a timeline for the expansion but said it is “currently exploring opportunities with a few different groups while preparing our operations to support these new partners.”
Dan Purdum has been named the company’s vice president of growth, a newly created position aimed at spearheading its nationwide expansion efforts, it said. He assumed the role at the end of last month.
A St. Louis native, Purdum most recently worked at Panera Bread and ended his 26-year tenure with the company as its director of franchise operations, according to his LinkedIn profile. Purdum had held multiple roles at the locally based bakery-cafe chain, including director, and previously senior manager, of franchise projects.
