American Eagle Credit Union said Monday its ATM system and member accounts had been hacked.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said a skimmer was found on an American Eagle Credit Union ATM on the 6600 block of Chippewa last month. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
The credit union said members would not be liable for any related losses. “Protecting our members from fraud is a top priority,” the company said in a statement to the Business Journal. “If members believe their account has been compromised or has experienced fraud, they should contact us at 800-325-9905.”
The number of members whose accounts were compromised and the dollar amount of the losses was not immediately available.
