A new cocktail bar, Hidden Gem, opened Wednesday at 3118 Locust St. in Midtown.

ST. LOUIS — Sisters Susan Logsdon and Amanda Helman — who in 2016 launched Golden Gems, a lifestyle brand that designs and sells accessories, apparel, stationery goods and home décor out of three brick-and-mortar shops in St. Louis — said opening a bar has been a longtime a dream come true.

Cocktail bar Hidden Gem is located at 3118 Locust St. in Midtown.

The 3,500-square-foot space required a full gut job, the sisters said.

The sisters described Hidden Gem as “disco meets dive bar,” offering everything from cocktails to beer, adding that they hope the bar will be an approachable and inclusive addition to Midtown. The bar features several signature cocktails including the “Boot, Scoot and Boogie,” a beer served in a boot-shaped glass along with a shot of whiskey; “Gay Water,” a vodka-based drink served with a rainbow Airhead garnish; and the “Disco Gin Bucket,” which is a gin bucket served in a disco ball.
