O'FALLON, Mo. — A developer hopes to build two types of indoor recreational facilities inside a vacant movie theater.

The two projects – locations of an indoor playground and trampoline park called Lava Island and a video gaming center called Contender eSports – would be built inside the former Regal movie theater at 900 Caledonia Drive in O’Fallon, Missouri, which closed last year.

The property, which was built in 2005 and originally known as Great Escape Theatre, is owned by Kansas City-based Cinescape Property LLC, according to St. Charles County records. The entity, once based in Delaware, merged in 2020 with a Missouri entity that links to the office of Kansas City-based EPT Properties, a real estate firm that operates an experiential real estate investment trust, according to its website.
