ST. LOUIS — The interim leader of tourism agency Explore St. Louis said Tuesday he plans to finish America's Center expansion projects in the current pipeline – then evaluate "next steps" on elements of the plan that were previously put on hold amid delays and cost overruns.
The comments from Bob Wallace, who took over this week as interim president of Explore amid Kitty Ratcliffe's impending early departure, come as the redevelopment project has experienced delays and cost overruns, leading to headaches for Explore leadership.
Wallace, who's to be paid $25,000 a month, according to a contract released to the Business Journal, anticipates staying til Nov. 30, but could remain in his new role depending when a permanent replacement for Ratcliffe is hired. Explore has hired Searchwide Global to assist in the process. Wallace has taken leave from his role as partner at downtown law firm Thompson Coburn.
