MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — A California-based logistics company is shutting down a St. Louis-area office and laying off all the workers there.

SPS Ventures Inc., a Santa Clarita, California-based provider of distribution and delivery services, plans to cease operations at its facility at 15704 Westport Commerce Drive, Suite 400, in Maryland Heights, cutting all 152 employees, the company said in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notice received Friday by the state.

The facility, in Westport Commerce Center, is owned by an affiliate of the center's developers, Earth City-based TriStar Properties and PCCP LLC, a Los Angeles real estate and finance company.

The SPS employees will be laid off Feb. 3, 2024, and the closure is expected to be permanent, officials said in a letter dated Dec. 5. Of the affected employees, two are operations managers and 150 are delivery associates, according to the filing.
