ST. LOUIS — A judge ordered the London Tea Room to vacate its Downtown West location in a dispute with its landlord.

St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Christopher McGraugh ruled Aug. 16 for Hyde Management LLC and Ahmad Salamah, ordering the London Tea Room to “surrender the premises” it occupies at 1900 Locust St.

Owner Jackie James confirmed in an email that the London Tea Room will have to leave its current location as a result of the ruling. James said that the business will “need to take some time to work out what's ahead for us.” The court's ruling said the London Tea Room must surrender the premises prior to 30 days from the judgment being finalized. It will maintain its current hours and operations before leaving.

The Aug. 16 ruling stems from a legal dispute that began shortly after the London Tea Room moved in October 2022 from Tower Grove South to Downtown West.
