DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. — Roger Gildehaus co-founded Macadoodles, a beer, wine and spirit retailer, in 1997 in Pineville, Missouri, near the Missouri-Arkansas boarder.

Beverage stores at the time had bad reputations for high prices, small assortments and no customer service, he said. After encountering all three shortcomings on a singular trip to his local liquor store, he decided to do something about it.

Gildehaus wrote down a mission statement on a scrap piece of paper for his newly conceptualized liquor retailer: Carry the best assortment of beers, wines, spirits and accessories of any store in the marketplace, offer these goods at fair and competitive prices and provide customer service beyond expectations.

The store, which became Macadoodles, since 1997 grown to include 10 Missouri stores and one in Springdale, Arkansas.

Now, it’s coming to the St. Louis region. The Macadoodles beverage store in Dardenne Prairie in St. Charles County will open in fall 2024.
