ST. LOUIS — A real estate firm said Tuesday it is handling the sale of the vacant Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis.
The move follows the city of St. Louis taking steps toward authorizing eminent domain at the property, but last month tabling an initial move that would be required.
JLL said it would conduct tours with interested buyers and announce a "call-for-offers" date through a closed-bid process. After that, it said the seller, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels of London, tied to Hong Leong Group of Singapore, would review and select finalists for buyer interviews.
JLL said broker David Biales wasn't available for an interview; developers and hoteliers have previously said the property faces issues such as asbestos and mold, with one, Bob O’Loughlin, CEO of Lodging Hospitality Management, saying the "infrastructure just isn’t that good."
