ARLINGTON, Texas — The University of Missouri’s appearance in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic drew 10 million-plus viewers, giving the bowl game its best ratings in recent years.
Friday night’s Cotton Bowl matchup between Mizzou and Ohio State University averaged 9.6 million viewers, with a peak viewership of 10.7 million, broadcaster ESPN said. The game’s viewership was up 11% from the 2022 Orange Bowl, which aired in the same time slot last year.
Mizzou won Friday night’s Cotton Bowl 14-3, finishing its 2023 season with an 11-2 record. Mizzou entered the bowl game ranked No. 9 nationally. It last appeared in the Cotton Bowl in 2014, defeating Oklahoma State University in that year's game.
