ST. LOUIS — Burger 809, the new operator for the restaurant space in the Citygarden sculpture park downtown, has set an opening day.

The restaurant will open at 1 p.m., July 11 at 808 Chestnut St., as it announced in a social media post. Burger 809, owned by Tasha Smith, most recently operated on Cherokee Street and is known for specialty sliders, salads and "comfort food" sides.

The addition of Burger 809 at Citygarden was announced in March, and the restaurant said then it planned to be open for lunch, dinner and brunch. Burger 809 has yet to announce its hours of operation for its new location, which will seat about 70 to 75 dinners inside and on its patio.

Smith has targeted two-to-four full-time and four-to-six part-time employees at Burger 809 at Citygarden, a well as about two contract workers, a spokesperson previously told the Business Journal.
