SUNSET HILLS, Mo. — A Midwest-based furniture retailer will be opening a new store in two vacant storefronts at a prominent shopping center in St. Louis County.

Slumberland Furniture, a family-owned furniture retailer headquartered in Oakdale, Minnesota, will take over the space vacated last year by big-box retailer Bed Bath and Beyond and formalwear seller David’s Bridal, at the Plaza at Sunset Hills, said the center's owner and manager, Sansone Group. The shopping center is at the intersection of South Lindbergh Boulevard and Watson Road in south St. Louis County.

The new Slumberland store, which will be a prototype store measuring about 53,000 square feet, is already under construction at the site, said Sansone Group broker Grant Mechlin. Lease terms weren't disclosed. Sansone Group contractors are combining the two store spaces, formerly holding Bed Bath and Beyond at 10770 Sunset Hills Plaza and David's Bridal at 10760 Sunset Hills Plaza, into one larger interior space.
