ST. LOUIS — A new bar and basement nightclub has opened on Cherokee Street in the former Blank Space building: Tschüss.

Brogan Drissell in 2022 opened 'ssippi, a natural wine bar at 2926 Cherokee St., with his now-wife, Emily Kostiuk. They opened Tschüss with Kalaija Mallery, artistic director of The Luminary art gallery.

Kaveh Razani, of the former Blank Space event venue at 2847 Cherokee St., heard they were looking for a location for the club and suggested the old building, which has a ground floor and basement of 12,000 square feet each as well as a small patio.

"We worried about it being a bigger project, but the more we thought about it, the more we thought, 'Well, we don't have anywhere to dance. We want to make a place to dance and have music that we want to listen to,'" Drissell said. "The more bridges on Cherokee, the better."
