ST. LOUIS — A chain of gas stations and convenience stores has purchased property to build a new gas station along the Mississippi River, after winning a legal challenge against St. Louis County to move ahead with construction.
Moto Inc., the Belleville-based parent company of gas station chain MotoMart, purchased the 11.61-acre site at 3800 Koch Road in south St. Louis County for $1.375 million. The Louisville, Kentucky-based investment entity that owned the property, River Front LLC, was registered to trustee William Curtis Deem Jr., who died last year. The family had owned the property since the 1970s, according to the broker representing the seller, Patrick McKay of St. Louis-based commercial real estate firm Hilliker Corp.
The deal closed Aug. 22, McKay said. MotoMart was represented by Venture Real Estate LLC for the transaction, Hilliker said in a news release.
The currently vacant property is located at the Koch Road exit on Interstate 255.
