ST. LOUIS — A man identifying himself as Jonathan "JD" Davis on Thursday said he is the new editor of the Riverfront Times, and defended reviews of online pornography that now appear on the newspaper's website.

Big Lou Media, tied to Chris Keating, in May sold the Riverfront Times, and the new owner opted not to keep its editorial staff. Keating at the time said he wouldn't reveal who bought the RFT.

Davis, on Thursday, didn't either, and didn't reply to a message seeking more information.

From the RFT's account on X, formerly Twitter, Davis said he believes the RFT, which is no longer printed, can "thrive," and criticized its former content, saying it was "aggressively opinionated, fraught with author bias and overwhelmingly negative."

He said the new RFT would carry content about living in St. Louis, including about cannabis.

Davis also said the site would carry articles about OnlyFans, the London-based subscription services that contains numerous accounts with pornography.
