ROCK HILL, Mo. — CVS Health Corp. next month will shutter a local store as part of its previously announced plan to close around 900 stores, or about 10% of its U.S. locations, between 2022 and 2024.
The Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based pharmacy chain said it will close its Rock Hill store, at 9433 Manchester Road, on April 9. All prescriptions will be transferred to its Clayton store, at 8101 Clayton Road, the company said.
“Maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities we serve is an important factor we consider when making store closure decisions,” a company spokesman said in a statement. “Other factors include local market dynamics, population shifts, a community’s store density, and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community.”
CVS will continue to operate more than 65 pharmacy locations throughout St. Louis County, including locations within local Target and Schnucks stores, it said.
