Rockwell Beer Co. will take over food operations at its brewery and tasting room on Thursday, officials said.

ST. LOUIS — Rockwell Beer Co., which earlier this year took over its food operations after Niche Food Group’s fast-casual burger concept Brasswell closed, on Monday relaunched its food program with an expanded menu and a newly appointed culinary director.

The brewery and tasting room, at 1320 S. Vandeventer Ave. in the city’s Botanical Heights neighborhood, named longtime employee Stephen Kovac as its culinary director. Kovac — who also runs the kitchen at Rockwell’s beer garden location, which opened in 2021 at Francis Park in St. Louis Hills — and his team developed the new menu over the past three months, officials said.

The menu was developed using input from staff members and customers, officials added.

The new menu will retain versions of the smash burgers, shoestring fries and fried chicken sandwich that Brasswell previously offered.
