ST. LOUIS — Local barbecue spot Salt + Smoke has closed both locations of its to-go and counter-service dining concept, Oh Hey! Barbecue.

The concept’s first location was announced in September 2022 and opened later that fall in the food hall of Schnucks' Kirkwood store. Oh Hey! Barbecue's second location opened last May in the food hall of the St. Louis-based grocer’s Crestwood store.

“Both locations closed near the end of 2023,” Schnucks spokesperson Paul Simon said. “We are currently working to fill the spaces with new tenants to serve our customers.”

Oh Hey! Barbecue sold a scaled-down menu of offerings from Salt + Smoke’s menu, such as its pulled pork, beef brisket and white cheddar cracker mac and cheese, in addition to new items, including onion rings and baby back ribs. It was designed to offer customers the chance to pick up their favorite Salt + Smoke items while grocery shopping.
