Salt + Smoke will occupy 5,500 square feet of space on the first floor and 2,500 square feet on the second floor.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Salt + Smoke, which last Friday opened its fifth location in Ellisville, has signed a lease for its sixth location, slated to open this fall in South County.

The local barbecue chain had been scouting potential locations in the area based on data from its carryout and third-party delivery services: “South County was over indexed compared to other parts of the region, so we’re pretty confident we have fans there already,” said owner Tom Schmidt. “And it’s far from our other locations.”

The upcoming location, at 4130 Rusty Road, is currently in the planning and design phase and will undergo a “massive remodel” to be as “pretty, welcoming and distinctly Salt + Smoke as all our other locations,” Schmidt said.
