ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — A public entity in St. Charles County is seeking developers who want to build a nearly $150 million youth sports complex that’s intended to be a tourism destination targeted at out-of-town visitors.
In a request for proposals issued May 20 and due in August, the St. Charles County Convention and Sports Facilities Authority is seeking private developers or public entities that want to build a large indoor and outdoor athletic facility backed by a feasibility study from a sports facilities consultant.
Intended to attract a facility with “goals of becoming a competitive sports tourism destination for the Midwest region and beyond,” the project could be located anywhere within St. Charles County and does not have a particular location recommended in the RFP. If a project is located in a city, officials from that city are asked to submit a letter along with the RFP response.
