ST. LOUIS — Major League Soccer franchise St. Louis CITY SC ranked near the top of MLS for digital engagement during the 2023 season, according to an outside report that details the league’s marketing initiatives.
CITY SC has the second-most digital engagement from fans during the MLS 2023 season, according to SponsorUnited, a Connecticut-based firm that tracks advertising data for the sports and entertainment industries. CITY SC’s branded content on social media garnered 1.7 million likes and comments, according to the report. SponsorUnited said it tracked engagement from MLS teams’ social media content on social media platforms Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook.
While ranking No. 2 in MLS, CITY SC’s engagement paled in comparison to Inter Miami, which had 30.8 million engagements. The LA Galaxy ranked third behind CITY SC with 1.4 million engagements.
CITY SC is coming off an inaugural season in which it surprised soccer pundits and fans alike, finishing first in MLS’ Western Conference.
