ST. LOUIS — Tourism agency Explore St. Louis is seeking $20 million more from the city of St. Louis for work on the expansion of the America's Center tourism complex downtown, which officials said would bring the tab so far to $260 million.

The money would come from interest on the city's Rams settlement money ($5 million), plus interest on federal American Rescue Plan Act money allocated to the city ($15 million), according to people familiar with the matter.

St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones' office is supporting the additional money. Her spokesman didn't immediately respond to questions about how the ARPA money was collecting interest. The Rams money has been invested in treasury bonds.
