The St. Louis-area neighborhoods where homes sold the fastest in Q3

Houses are selling fast all over the area, but these ZIPs were the hottest

ST. LOUIS — If you’re buying a home in the St. Louis region, it’s probably best to act quickly no matter where you’re searching.

Houses are selling fast in nearly all corners of the St. Louis area, according to third quarter home sales data provided by national real estate brokerage Redfin. The top 10 regional ZIP Codes with fewest median days on the market in the previous quarter include neighborhoods in St. Louis County, the city of St. Louis, St. Charles County, Lincoln County and Jefferson County.

The 63019 ZIP Code, which includes Crystal City, led the region in the third quarter with homes there staying on the market for just a median of 13 days. The 63088 ZIP code, which includes Valley Park and Twin Oaks, ranked second with homes staying on the market for a median of 14 days. ZIP codes that cover parts of South County and Jefferson County ranked third with homes in each remaining on the market for 15 days.

Top 10 neighborhoods where homes sold the fastest:

  1. 63019, Crystal City: 13 days
  2. 63088, Twin Oaks, Valley Park: 14 days
  3. 63125, Lemay: 15 days
  4. 63052, Imperial, Kimmswick: 15 days
  5. 63376, St. Peters, O’Fallon, Cottleville: 16 days
  6. 63074, St. Ann: 16 days
  7. 63139, Lindenwood Park, Southwest Garden: 19 days
  8. 63042, Hazelwood: 20 days
  9. 63304, St. Charles, Cottleville: 20 days
  10. 63362, Moscow Mills, Fountain N’ Lakes: 21 days

Overall, nine local ZIP codes in the third quarter had homes stay on the market for a median of 20 days or fewer. Across the region, homes in October stayed on the market for an average of 43 days, up from 39 in 2018, according to the St. Louis Realtors trade group.

Using the data provided by Redfin, the St. Louis Business Journal ranked the 25 local ZIP codes with the lowest median days on market in the third quarter. The Business Journal also has ranked the St. Louis neighborhoods with the most home sales in the most recent quarter, and ZIP codes have had the highest median sale price

In St. Louis' most expensive neighborhood, home prices spiked in the third quarter. Homes sold in the 63124 ZIP code, which mostly includes Ladue, in the third quarter had a median sales price of $815,000, according to data provided by national real estate brokerage Redfin.
