2 prominent St. Louis restaurant groups will open new locations in Crestwood redevelopment's next phase of construction

Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria is one of two businesses that have its eyes set on new storefronts at the former Crestwood mall site.

CRESTWOOD, Mo. — A new Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria location and a high-end, authentic Mexican concept from the owners of Syberg's will open in the next phase of construction of the Dierbergs-anchored redevelopment of the former Crestwood Plaza mall, located along Watson Road in Crestwood.

The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Alderman both earlier this month approved the project’s final development plan, which also includes a public gathering space with a stage, water feature, and additional parking.

With those approvals, Dierbergs Markets Inc. — which in March opened a 70,000-square-foot store anchoring the company’s $67 million retail development, dubbed Crestwood Crossing — has received the initial approvals from the city of Crestwood necessary to move the project forward, Dierbergs Director of Real Estate Drew Bextermueller said.

“In terms of city approvals, their next step will be to submit final construction drawings for city and county building permit review,” Crestwood City Planner Danny Jendusa said.
