ST. LOUIS — The St. Louligans, the supporters group for Major League Soccer franchise St. Louis CITY SC, noticed last year that people were selling merchandise online with its logo.
The nonprofit group contacted people to tell them to stop and then successfully filed for a trademark for the skull-and-crossbones logo. But hoping to save money for charitable donations and confident that a Missouri law would offer protections, the Louligans decided not to trademark its name.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records identify the registering company as Beck Flavors, based in Maryland Heights. Founded in 1904, Beck Flavors delivers “custom flavor products to the food and beverage industry.
