What WashU paid for Fontbonne campus

WashU said last year that it had signed an agreement with Fontbonne University to purchase the neighboring 16-acre campus.

CLAYTON, Mo. — Washington University has acquired Fontbonne University's campus for $39 million.

WashU, located in Clayton, said last year that it had signed an agreement with Fontbonne University, which will close after the summer 2025 term, to purchase the neighboring 16-acre Fontbonne campus.

The sale closed June 25, with Washington University paying $39 million for the Fontbonne property at 6800 Wydown Blvd. in Clayton, records from St. Louis County and real estate analytics firm Reonomy show. The newly acquired campus is situated at the corner of Wydown and Big Bend boulevards in Clayton, across Wydown from part of WashU’s existing 169-acre campus, which is bordered by Forest Park and the cities of St. Louis, Clayton and University City.
